Storyboard
For our social realism film, we have decided and finialised most of what we want to have on screen, from everything to locations, actors and props. Our idea has evolved alot from the beginning and we have completely changed the genre of what we wanted to do, at the beginning we were going for an urban drama focusing on the troubled life of teenagers and the influence of gangs but slowly veered of that direction after assesing the difficulty and effectiveness of it. In the end we decided we wanted to put to light the situation of homeless people from a day to day basis. We wanted to use a range of camera angles to portray isolation and how small the homeless girl is in compaison to others around her, we wanted the audeince to feel as if she had less significance in the world, as do most people feel when it comes to homeless people.
We have a variety of different locations that we want to film at, these include Tovil, Greenich and Maidstone in general. Shooting at Greenich means that we all have to take a train to London and ensure that while we are there we take all the correct shots we need because then it would make it very diffuclt to return there as a team. This is why we are all confident that our idea won't change again and that what we have now is the finialised version of what we need (camera angles may change but that dosen't change anything).
We have one prop which we have already bought and decided that we liked it, it is a pendant. The pendant is the one item which the homeless girl has has and is the only thing which ties her to her past, it is to show that she has backstory, she wasn't born into poverty. She had a family before, there is going to be a picture of her family and her in the pendant, the pendant is very useful in adding character depth and insight. We are using a minium of 2 actors and this is mostr likely the maximum but this is subject to change (talked about in previous blog).
