Horror Conventions Source Of Inspiration
Brief
Inspired by our paranormal, comedic preliminary film, I want to look at some different sub genres of horror to see how our preliminary would change if we were to use different conventions. This would help me with not only further deconstructions, but also allow me to understand how to alter the genre of a film as our group has ideas of creating a more original film opening and so may chose a different genre, unlike the common horror film openings.
Genre
The horror genre can be split up into many sub genres and can sometimes overlap to appeal to certain audiences. The common sub genres are the following, with the corresponding lists of conventions used.
